Mission
The Interface: Where land meets sea
The Origin
Bazlisk™ was born from a specific frustration: our gear couldn't keep up with our weekends. We found ourselves running heavy trails in boardshorts that dragged in the water, or swimming in briefs that felt out of place at the coffee shop.
We realized that the modern athlete doesn't just run, and he doesn't just swim. He moves through environments. He needs gear that thrives at the rugged interface of land and sea.
Inspired by the Common Basilisk - the lizard famous for its ability to sprint across water (aka the “Jesus Lizard”) - we built a brand dedicated to Amphibious Performance.
The Mission
To give men the confidence to move freely.
We are reclaiming the short inseam. Not as a retro fashion statement, but as a commitment to efficiency. We believe that excess fabric is a liability. It adds weight, creates drag, and holds water.
Our mission is to engineer the world's best performance-first, short-inseam apparel. We design for the Adventurous Minimalist - the guy who values technical simplicity over hype, and who measures a good workout by how much sand is left in his shoes.
Our Pillars
Amphibious Versatility. True versatility isn't just about "quick-dry" fabric. It's about gear that performs equally well in a squat rack, on a ridge line, and in the Pacific. Our products are designed to be the only thing you need to wear from your morning training session to your post-run plunge.
Technical Simplicity. We don't add features for the sake of it. We build outdoor-grade gear designed to cover and carry the essentials. Clean lines, matte finishes, and bonded seams mean you can wear Bazlisk anywhere without looking like you're wearing a costume.
Purposeful Fit. We engineer thigh-forward silhouettes that stay out of your way. Whether it's the locked-in suspension of our Stride 5 tights or the hydrodynamic cut of our Wake 1.5 briefs, every millimeter of fabric has a job to do.
The Bazlisk Standard
We are for the disciplined athlete who finds peace in nature's toughest environments. From the humid trails of Florida to the cold currents of Northern California, Bazlisk is built for the heat, the sweat, and the salt.
Field Tested
A note from the founder:
I didn’t start Bazlisk because I wanted to be in the fashion industry. I started it because I couldn't find gear that could survive the environments I lived in.
From the humidity of the Florida swamps during US Army Ranger School to the thin air of the Afghan mountains; from the cold currents of a no-wetsuit Alcatraz crossing to the heat of a sub-3 marathon. I’ve learned that quality gear needs to be built for an environment that can change every hour and every mile.
I’ve spent a lifetime pursuing efficiency - a sub-10 Ironman, a sub-2:50 marathon, and deep dives in the Florida Keys. In every pursuit, I felt the same friction: gear that was either too heavy, too restrictive, or too slow to dry.
Bazlisk is the answer to that friction. It is a veteran-owned business built on the belief that the best gear is the gear you don't have to think about.
- Andy, Founder, Bazlisk
Less fabric. More performance. Welcome to the interface.
