The Stride 5" Running Half Tights
Most running tights add length nobody asked for. We stopped at 5 inches — where muscle support meets full range of motion.
We stripped a running tight down to the shortest inseam that still does real work: 5 inches, full stop. No knee-length compromise, no waistband you have to roll down to get comfortable. The Stride 5 carries your phone, your gels, and your keys at your hip — not bouncing on your thigh — and it's built from a chlorine-proof, four-way-stretch shell that doesn't care if your run ends on pavement or in the ocean.
Key Features
- True 5" Inseam: The shortest inseam we'd call serious. Maximum mobility, zero knee coverage, nothing left to ride up.
- 8.3" Low-Rise Fit: Sits at your hip, not your waist. No rolling the band down to find a comfortable line.
- 5-Pocket Carry System: Two XL hip pockets anchor your phone at your center of gravity instead of letting it swing on your thigh — big enough for an oversized phone or a 500mL flask. Two gel pockets and a rear zip pocket round out the carry, each lined with lightweight, breathable liner fabric — not doubled-up shell material.
- Vest-Level Storage, Zero Vest: Five pockets at the hip carry as much as a hydration vest — without adding an ounce above the waist. No tradeoff between cargo capacity and an elite length cut.
- Modesty Panel, Not a Full Liner: A seam-free front panel built with just enough engineered space for comfortable support — not a full brief-style liner sewn through the entire short. Less fabric inside means less heat and less weight; the support is exactly where you need it, and nowhere else.
- Lock-Down Hem: Silicone gripper strips heat-bonded inside each leg opening keep the hem locked on your quad through every stride. No pinching, no ride-up.
- Amphibious Tech Shell: A 190 GSM recycled tricot built with XLANCE® elastane — chlorine-proof, UV-resistant, and quick-drying enough to run straight from the trail into the surf.
Fabric & Materials
- Shell: 78% recycled polyester, 22% Elastane (XLANCE®), 190 GSM. Chlorine-proof, four-way stretch, UV-resistant, Global Recycled Standard certified.
- Liner: 90% polyester / 10% Elastane, 140 GSM — used only where it's needed: the front modesty panel and pocket linings. No full brief-style liner — we cut the excess fabric, not the support.
- Drawstring: Internal elasticized semi-round braided cord for a secure, no-slip tie.
- Stitching: A&E Wildcat thread construction for a soft, low-irritation finish at every seam.
Colorways
Core Black: A matte, deep black that reads as technical as it performs — on the starting line or three miles deep in the backcountry.
Fit & Sizing
- Fit: Next-to-skin compression.
- Sizing: True to size. Choose your standard waist size for a locked-in, race-ready fit.
- Rise: 8.3" front rise, 11" back rise — sits at the hip, not the belly button.
- Model: 6'0", 180 lbs, wearing a size 32.
Locked-in compression fit. Sits naturally low on your hips at an 8.3-inch front rise. Order your true standard waist size.
Branding & Care
- Branding: Subdued logo, heat-transferred on the rear right hip only. You're not our billboard — the cut and the fabric do the talking.
- Care: Machine wash warm. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Rinse after use. Heat-transfer label inside — no loose tag, no chafing.

Built on the clock
Where the Stride 5 earns it

The 8.3-inch rise stays put past mile six.
Most half-tights ride up or need a re-tuck by the second mile. Ours doesn't, because the rise sits at your hip instead of your waist — there's no waistband to roll down and nothing to readjust mid-stride.

Two phone pockets. Zero pendulum swing.
Strap a phone to your thigh and it swings with every stride. We moved the pockets to your hip, at your center of gravity, so a full-size phone or a 500mL flask rides still through a full sprint.

Built for the workout that ends in a pocket check.
Stair sprints shake loose anything that isn't anchored. The gel pockets and rear zip pocket sit close to the body and stay closed, not bouncing open on the descent.

One short for the trailhead and the track.
Whatever's on the sign — 400 meters or 14 miles — the same 5-inch inseam and lock-down hem go the distance. No separate trail short, no separate track short.
Built to cross over
Trail to tide, without changing

Chlorine-proof was the easy part. Submersion-ready was the goal.
Our shell is built on a 190 GSM recycled tricot reinforced with XLANCE® chlorine-resistant elastane. It doesn't matter if the crossing is knee-deep or chest-deep.

The trail ends at the water. The tight doesn't.
UV-resistant, fast-drying, and built to hold its shape wet or dry — the Stride 5 doesn't need a wardrobe change between the cliff trail and the swim below it.

Four-way stretch, fully loaded.
A loaded pack and a creek crossing put real torque through the hips. The 78/22 poly-elastane blend stretches with the motion instead of restricting it — and dries fast enough that a wet crossing doesn't mean a wet afternoon.

Engineered for the dip you didn't plan for.
No liner to wring out, no mesh to bag out wet. The seamless front panel and lightweight pocket liners are built to go straight from trail dust to alpine lake without a second thought.
Earned, not assumed
Then it just keeps going

Dry by the time you order.
190 GSM recycled tricot sheds water fast — quick enough that a sweat-soaked finish doesn't follow you to the table. No changing clothes, no second bag to carry.

The logo you won't notice.
One subdued mark, heat-transferred on the rear right hip. We're not interested in being a billboard — the fabric and the fit do the talking.

No loose tag, no chafing, no excuses.
Every care label is heat-transferred directly into the fabric — there's nothing stitched in to rub or itch after hours on your feet.

Built for the rest of the day, not just the workout.
An 8.3-inch rise that sits at your hip looks as intentional off the clock as it does on it. The Stride 5 doesn't read as "workout gear" the second the workout ends.
Common questions
What you're actually buying
Running half tights reduce muscle vibration, stabilize movement, and eliminate the thigh chafing that loose shorts can't prevent. The Stride 5 adds a 5-pocket carry system and a chlorine-resistant amphibious shell, so you get the support of a compression tight with the mobility of a true 5-inch inseam.
No — the Stride 5 uses a modesty panel at the front only, not a full brief-style liner sewn through the entire short. We cut the excess fabric instead of the support, which means less heat, less weight, and a true 5-inch inseam that isn't padded out by an extra layer.
For most runs, yes. The Stride 5's 5-pocket carry system — two XL hip pockets, two gel pockets, and a rear zip pocket — holds as much gear as a hydration vest, anchored at your hip instead of bouncing on your back or thigh.
The Stride 5 is true to size with a next-to-skin compression fit — order your standard waist size. Our fit model is 6'0", 180 lbs, and wears a size 32.
Yes. The shell is a 190 GSM recycled tricot reinforced with chlorine-resistant XLANCE® elastane, the same fiber family used in competition swimwear, so it holds up to pool chemicals and ocean swims alike.
No. The Stride 5 is engineered to be worn alone, not layered under another short. The seam-free front panel and modesty liner panel are built specifically so the Stride 5 reads as intentional performance apparel on its own — not as an underlayer that needs covering.
Yes. The 5-pocket carry system gives you accessible storage you'd otherwise lose to a hip belt, and the four-way-stretch shell eliminates the thigh chafing that loose hiking shorts cause under a loaded pack. The chlorine-resistant fabric also dries fast after stream crossings, so a wet ford doesn't mean a wet afternoon on the trail.
No — that's exactly what the lock-down hem is built to prevent. Silicone gripper strips heat-bonded inside each leg opening keep the hem locked on your quad through a full stride, and the 8.3-inch rise sits at your hip instead of your waist, so there's nothing to readjust mid-run.
Compression shorts are built for muscle support alone — most have no real storage. The Stride 5 is a running half tight: the same next-to-skin compression fit, plus a 5-pocket carry system engineered to anchor gear at your hip instead of your thigh. It's compression-shorts support with hydration-vest-level carry.
The opposite is the goal. A true 5-inch inseam with a four-way-stretch shell and a locked-down hem is built to eliminate the friction that loose shorts or longer tights with loose hems can cause. The fabric moves with your stride instead of rubbing against it.
